What to look for in a Komga reader on iPhone

The cross-platform hub is the Komga app page. The start-to-finish walk-through is setting up Komga or Kavita for mobile reading.

Connecting on iPhone and iPad

Allow Local Network access when iOS asks, or a server on your home network will not answer. Sign in with an API key or a password. Choose an address TritonPanels 2.0.1 accepts. The address table is in the mobile setup guide.

Away from home

Using Tailscale is the easiest safe route: the server’s HTTPS Tailscale Serve name (such as https://komga.your-tailnet.ts.net), with Tailscale running on the phone. Plain HTTP to 100.x addresses is refused. Self-signed certificates do not work. A public HTTPS name also works.

Reading on iPad

The same subscription covers iPhone and iPad. Books open single page, as spreads, in continuous scroll, or Panel by Panel. Manga can run right to left for pages, spreads and panels.

Price

No ads and no TritonPanels account. A 14-day free trial, then €0.49 a month or €4.99 a year in Ireland. iPhone and iPad need iOS or iPadOS 17 or later. Android 7.0 or later is the other platform.
