Kavita

Kavita reader app for iPhone, iPad and Android

Quick answer. TritonPanels reads a Kavita server on iPhone, iPad and Android. You connect with an Auth Key, then browse and read the library, and reading progress stays in step with Kavita both ways. There is no TritonPanels account. After a 14-day trial the app is a monthly or yearly subscription, with no ads.

Kavita, on a phone

Kavita is a server you run. It does not have to ship its own phone app for you to read it. TritonPanels is a separate reader that speaks to your server: you enter the address and an Auth Key, and the app talks to Kavita directly. Nothing is sent to TritonApps.

The connection steps, including which Kavita versions take an Auth Key, are in the Kavita setup guide. On iPhone and iPad, allow Local Network access when iOS asks, or a server on your home network will not answer.

Progress syncs both ways

With Kavita, reading progress is kept in step on the server in both directions, the same as Komga. Another device that reads that Kavita server can continue where this one stopped. OPDS is different: Calibre and other OPDS catalogs are read-only in TritonPanels, so their progress stays on the phone. The difference is spelled out in syncing progress across devices.

What this is not

TritonPanels is not Kavita, and it is not an official Kavita app. It does not host your library. It also has no Mac app and no browser reader. Platforms are iPhone and iPad on iOS 17 or later, and Android 7.0 or later.

Komga and OPDS

If the library is on Komga instead, use the Komga reader page. If it is a Calibre or other OPDS catalog, use the OPDS reader page and expect progress to remain on the device. Files you already have on the phone do not need a server at all: reading offline covers that.

Frequently asked questions

Is TritonPanels an official Kavita app?

No. It is an independent reader that connects to a Kavita server you run, using an Auth Key. Kavita does not endorse it.

Does Kavita progress sync to another phone?

Yes, when both devices read the same Kavita server. TritonPanels writes progress to the server and reads it back. It has no sync of its own.

Does Kavita work on Android and iPhone?

With TritonPanels, yes: Android 7.0 or later, and iPhone or iPad on iOS 17 or later. There is no Mac or web app.

Do I need an account?

You need a Kavita Auth Key for your server. You do not need a TritonPanels account. The app has no ads, and it is a subscription after a 14-day trial.
