Connect with an Auth Key

Create an Auth Key in Kavita and paste it in TritonPanels with the server address. You do not give the app your Kavita password. Which Kavita versions take an Auth Key is in the mobile setup guide. The cross-platform hub is the Kavita app page.

Series, volumes and chapters

Once connected you browse the library the way Kavita organises it: series, volumes and chapters. Search works against that server. A book opens in the same reader as a local file: single page, spreads, continuous scroll or Panel by Panel.

Two-way progress

Reading progress is kept in step with the Kavita server in both directions. Mark a chapter on the phone and the server sees it. Open the same book on another phone or tablet that uses that server and the place comes back. There is no TritonPanels account. See syncing progress across devices.

Offline

Keep a book, a folder or a library on the device and read it without the server.

Away from home

Use HTTPS on a public name, or Tailscale Serve on a *.ts.net name with Tailscale running on the phone. Plain HTTP to 100.x addresses is refused. Self-signed certificates do not work. The address table in the mobile setup guide applies to Kavita too.

OPDS versus native

Kavita can also publish an OPDS feed. In TritonPanels, OPDS 1 and OPDS 2 are read-only: you can browse and read, but progress stays on the device and is not written back. Native Kavita is the route that syncs.

Price

No ads and no TritonPanels account. A 14-day free trial, then €0.49 a month or €4.99 a year in Ireland. Android 7.0 or later. iPhone and iPad need iOS 17 or later.
