Mihon’s homepage describes a reader for discovering and reading manga, webtoons and comics on Android. The download page says stable v0.21.2 was released 13 October 2026 and requires Android 8.0 or higher. It is free. Tracking on the homepage names MyAnimeList, AniList, Kitsu and more. You add sources. Komga documents an official extension for its own server.
TritonPanels does not browse those catalogues. It opens CBZ, RAR4 CBR, CB7, CBT, PDF and image-based DRM-free EPUB from the device, a drive, SMB, a cloud folder, Wi-Fi transfer, Substack, Komga, Kavita or OPDS. It runs on iPhone and iPad (iOS 17 or later) and Android 7.0 or later. There is no free version.
Where Mihon is better
- Price. Mihon is free and open source. TritonPanels is a subscription after a 14-day trial.
- Sources and tracking. Following a series from a source you add, and tracking it on MyAnimeList, AniList or Kitsu, is Mihon’s job. TritonPanels has no source browser and no tracker.
- It is current. v0.21.2 shipped on 13 October 2026. That is two days before this page.
- Komga, through their extension. Komga’s own guide documents an official Mihon extension that can keep read progress in sync with the server. TritonPanels talks to Komga directly, without an extension. Both can sync. Mihon’s path is the one that also lives inside a source reader.

Where TritonPanels is better
- iPhone and iPad. Mihon’s download page is Android 8.0 or higher. TritonPanels is on iOS 17 or later as well.
- Files you already own, as the whole point. Local CBZ and PDF, USB and SD, SMB, and Wi-Fi transfer are first-class. Mihon has a local source; its homepage leads with discovery. The file workflow is in reading manga offline from your own files.
- Kavita, SMB and OPDS. TritonPanels syncs Kavita both ways and reads OPDS 1 and 2, including Calibre, read-only. Mihon’s site and the Komga guide do not describe those.
